In my daughters eyes.....

Today, MaKayla turned 14 years old. That has really hit us hard around here. We are getting quite old, or so it seems. In all honesty I don't feel old, I don't have the time to feel old. I am to busy chasing a 14 year old daughter around. She never ceases to amaze me, it is something new everday!! When she gets to me after school, I love to hear Mom, you are not gonna believe this...... and usually she's right!! She has such an amazing heart, loves with no boundries, friends with no questions, cares without any request of return. Sometimes I look at her and I think, who's teaching who here?! I have learned far more about being a better person from her than I could ever tell you, she continues to teach me and others around her. The child has what seems to be no real fears in life, lives everyday to the fullest allowed. She is a good student, a good sibling, a good athlete, a good role model, and I could go on for ever. Fourteen years ago, I was scared, I was young and knew nothing of raising a child. Fourteen years ago, I was worried that I would mess something up. Today, I am scared. Today, I am worried that I will mess something up. Today I also go to God with thanks that he brought into my life this amazing child who has taught me so much and allowed me to be a part of something so wonderful as her!

This was beautiful, Misty!

It goes to show that love is what teaches. Parents to kids and kids to parents.
