odds & ends

So much has happened since I last posted. Basketball is over and Baseball/Softball is in full swing! MaKayla is on the JR High Softball team this year and so far, so good. This is the first year for Jr Softball so they are really excited. I still do the coaching since those are "my girls" lol! MaKall is playing on two different teams. He is on an eight and under team and on a ten and under team. He is still eight. The 8-u team is machine pitch and the 10-u team is kid pitch! I love the kid pitch, they can steal!! He is doing a little of everything, catching, short stop, and pitching! Wow has he surprised us with how good he is pitching, it's his first year! MaKenzie's basketball team went undefeated through their season and were both district and conference champs!! She is so sad it is over!! They were such a good little team!! Our kiddos keep us very busy but make us oh so proud!! We are on Spring Break this week, had plans to camp all week. Looks like the weather had other plans!! Who knows what we are gonna end up doing!! William and I actually went away by ourselves for a weekend!! We had a really good time but missed our kids so much!! I think they actually missed us too!! I will try to do better on posting, no promises though!!! haha MaKall went to Mississippi with Doc & Jackie to visit Logan!! He was so excited to spend the night there, go to two Ole Miss games and hang out with Logan and his teammates. He had an amazing time!! He got to go on the field, meet all of the players, go in the locker room, go to Logan and some of the players apartment, he got a team hat and a ball signed! He was so wound up when he got in he just couldn't quit talking!!! Can you blame him?!?! I will post some pictures of his trip when I get them from Jackie!

In my daughters eyes.....

Today, MaKayla turned 14 years old. That has really hit us hard around here. We are getting quite old, or so it seems. In all honesty I don't feel old, I don't have the time to feel old. I am to busy chasing a 14 year old daughter around. She never ceases to amaze me, it is something new everday!! When she gets to me after school, I love to hear Mom, you are not gonna believe this...... and usually she's right!! She has such an amazing heart, loves with no boundries, friends with no questions, cares without any request of return. Sometimes I look at her and I think, who's teaching who here?! I have learned far more about being a better person from her than I could ever tell you, she continues to teach me and others around her. The child has what seems to be no real fears in life, lives everyday to the fullest allowed. She is a good student, a good sibling, a good athlete, a good role model, and I could go on for ever. Fourteen years ago, I was scared, I was young and knew nothing of raising a child. Fourteen years ago, I was worried that I would mess something up. Today, I am scared. Today, I am worried that I will mess something up. Today I also go to God with thanks that he brought into my life this amazing child who has taught me so much and allowed me to be a part of something so wonderful as her!
