Getting Old????

Rachel reminded me tonight that I was getting old. She said she couldn't believe that Luke would be a year old in 2 months. WOW!!! Time sure has flown by. It seems like just a few years ago Rachel wasn't more than 8 or 10 years old herself, wanting to sit in William's lap because she was going to "marry" him, now her sweet baby is going to be a year old. I was blessed to be with her when Luke was born, what an amazing thing!!! He is so great, always happy and such a good personality. Who would ever guess that he is spoiled rotten, HAHA!

Back to School Already

Today I sent the kids off to school again. Now what? All my "friends" are at school from 8:00 to 3:00. The house is soooo quite. No arguments to referee, no lost remote, no snacks in the middle of the morning. I dropped MaKayla off at the High School this morning. I have been walking her to class for the last seven years. Now she just gets dropped off. Wow, how time flies. MaKenzie is just a little disappointed, she is in third grade. The third grade building is not connected to the K-2 building. There was no room in the 3rd grade building for the extra class they had to have, so Mrs. Shammi's class was left out. She is still stuck in the K-2 building with her brother, who's class happens to be right across the hall from her. (Poor thing) MaKall is excited about being in Mrs. Rories class. She was MaKenzie's teacher last year, poor dear has a rude awakening with the other Mosley kid. I will post some pictures from the first few days of school later in the week and let everyone know how they are fairing.

Pig showing time !!

Ready for "Showtime"

MaKayla & Delilah

The term "pig show" was lost on me a few years back. A pig show??? Well, I have now become an old pro at the pig shows. Here are just a few things I have learned. I know that pigs look better when shaved, yes, I said shaved. I know that some pigs like a good shower now and then. I know that pigs just like us, enjoy laying under a fan when it's hot. I know that a pig can be shined up with just a little product. I also know that if you have spent much time with a pig, you will smell like it.

On Thursday night we took our pigs to the fair grounds so the girls could show in the Midnight Madness show. We hauled them at a little after 10:00pm to help keep them cool in this extreme heat wave we are having. After about 2 hours of laying bedding and hanging fans the girls felt comfortable leaving "their babies" for the night. We arrived back at the fair grounds at a way to early time for me, 6:15am, so we could get them bathed and resettled before the pig showers were to crowded or the temperature started rising. The girls done an awesome job taking care of their animals in what can be a very stressful time on them. MaKayla, Dausen, & Katie stayed at the barn all day. MaKenzie would have stayed all day but her mom insisted she needed a nap. ( yes, I needed one too) Kelsey came up to hang out with the kids and start getting used to the whole "pig deal" because she will have her pig up for the fairs. I know they had a good time among all of the work they were doing.
The showing gang, looking good at 1:30am!!

Popeye taking it easy after his show!

After spending all day misting the pigs with water and keeping the fans going it was finally show time, 10:00pm. The pigs worked really well for them and they felt good about the show even though they didn't finish in the top of their classes. We returned home with very tired kids and pigs at about 3:00am on Saturday morning. All in all I would say, we made a good showing at the pig show.

Away to College....????

MaKall has yet to grasp the concept of going away to college. He has the idea that when school starts he will still see "his big boys" around campus. He doesn't realize that things are going to be very different. No more being in the gym after school because they can show him the real way to lift his leg in a lay-up, playing catch at the field and letting him hit in the cages like one of them, and getting to ride the sports bus like one of the guys. He wants to know if he can ride the bus to Logan and Kendall's baseball games in the spring. Logan will be playing at Ole Miss and Kendall will be playing at Crowder. MaKall wants to know if he will still get to sleep in RJ's bed when he stays the night with him at the dorm. RJ is going to ATU. The term going away to college is lost on MaKall. He believes "his big boys" should stay here and wait on him, he doesn't see the 11 year age difference. Yet, sometimes neither did they. Those guys have become such a major part of the lives here at the Mosley house, the change will be dramatic. William said going to the gym for a senior game will not be the same for a long time, the baseball field will never hold a more talented group. We want to wish them all good luck and want them to know how proud of them we are. They will be missed by a lot of people back here at home, I hope you all go out and do good in the big world, but never forget your way home.
